Netflix started the year by removing the first 6 Seasons from the popular series Heartland. Netflix removed it in many regions, including the UK and Australia but not in Canada and in the United States.
Heartland Seasons 1-6 have been removed from the following regions.
- United Kingdom
- Latin America (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia)
- Asian regions (India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea)
- South Africa
In the US, Netflix will air seasons 1 to 13 (to 14 exclusively on Up Faith and Family until early 2022), and Netflix CA will air seasons 1 to 14.
However, the rights to a popular show like Heartland are always up for grab. Back in 2019, Netflix US removed Season 1 to 3 but added them after a few weeks.
Will Heartland Seasons 1-6 Return to Netflix?
The big question you can ask yourself now is whether these seasons will return and whether you can see them elsewhere in the meantime.
Unfortunately, we do not know the answer to the first question as we contacted Entertainment One about the same, but they will not share the licensing information with the press.
In UK the first 6 Seasons are on-air on ‘Up Faith and Family’ Channel, which was launched as a Prime Channel in various regions of the world.
In Australia, the first seasons are only available in Prime Video.
We could not find other broadcasters for the show in the other regions other than mentioned above, which means you will have to look for different ways to watch the show.
It will be frustrating for many as watching a show between different streaming services is inconvenient and expensive. We hope Netflix can get a shared licensing of the first 6 seasons, but the possibility of it is unknown.
Will ‘Heartland’ Season 15 be released on Netflix?
Another question arises whether this will prevent season 15 from coming to Netflix. Does this mean that all the previous seasons will be removed from Netflix in the future? It is not clear. In light of the previous events, we should expect season 15 to come on Netflix later in 2022, but that is a big question.
