Supercrooks is the next title making its way to Netflix from Millarworld, and many subscribers are eager to know as much as possible about the upcoming supervillain heist flick.
Jupiter’s Legacy was a chart-topping sensation on the streaming platform, and despite it being #1 in recent Nielsen streaming rankings, Netflix saw fit to cancel the show.
So instead of continuing the story, the streamer is shifting gears towards Supercrooks, another property existing in the same fictional universe from Mark Millar.
There is a chance that the streaming service could one day return to Jupiter’s Legacy and Millar himself discussed the possibility of these characters showing up in Supercrooks in a recent interview with ScreenRant:
Jupiter’s Legacy is a vast and rich space with lots of characters to mine, and so I’m happy to share that our next step here is a live-action version of the Supercrooks comic I created with Leinil Francis Yu a few years back. Given where we’re going next, we’ve made the tough call of letting our incredible cast out of their show commitment as we continue to thoughtfully develop all realms of the Jupiter’s Legacy saga.
We’re confident we’ll return to it later and just want to say thanks to you guys for your continued support and to the cast and crew who made this look so great.
When one door closes, another door opens. Jupiter’s Legacy may be over, but the Supercrooks saga is just getting started. Here is everything fans need to know about the next Millarworld offering coming to Netflix.
Supercroocks release date
There has been absolutely no kind of official release date announced for Supercrooks, and because it is in the early developmental stages, it would seem very likely that news won’t arrive for some time.
However, one assumes that Netflix would like it to be available sooner than later, so maybe sometime in 2022 could be a potential landing point for the highly anticipated new Millarworld show.
No official cast has been revealed for Supercrooks either. There is a chance that some of the Jupiter’s Legacy cast, including Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb and Ben Daniels, could make an appearance, but fans will just have to wait and see who makes the roster when the Netflix original series comes out.
Supercrooks will return to the world of Jupiter’s Legacy, but things will be much different this time around. Instead of focusing on heroes like Lady Liberty and The Utopian, the show will center around a ragtag, Suicide Squad-esque crew of thieves, leg-breakers, and supervillains looking to pull off an extraordinary and death-defying heist that will probably result in some superheroes having to pick up their teeth off the floor.
Supercrooks has no trailer to speak of yet, and fans can expect a teaser to arrive much closer to the release date. Stay tuned to Netflix Life for that and all other updates for the Netflix original series as they come out.
