Romance is in the air year-round as such it’s a genre of media that Netflix has shown increasing interest in.
Fans of love stories, we know you already have Persuasion, The Netherfield Girls and the Bridgerton sequels marked for consumption on your calendars. But let us suggest a romance for June, one you can indulge in soon. It’s called Nevertheless, a romance series, based on the webtoon of the same name, coming to Netflix at the end of the month.
Korean dramas are known for their storytelling. Without a doubt this series starring Song Kang and Han So-hee as art school students refusing to define their relationship as a romance will steal hearts.
There’s nothing like a love story between two characters who won’t give in to love and yet, nevertheless, are falling more and more for each other as time goes on. It’s a recipe for a smitten audience waiting for them both to let go, let love, and take the plunge.
The intoxicating charm of a flirtatious art school classmate pulls a reluctant love cynic into a friends-with-benefits relationship.
To dig a little deeper, Park Jae-eon (Song Kang) is the flirtatious one. He’s happy seeing someone with no expectations or feelings blossoming. Love isn’t in the equation for him. It’s Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee) whose heart was broken before. Refusing to be bitten by the love bug twice, she wants to date, but she, too, has no interest in romance.
Of course, the two form a connection that challenges the very notion of their opinions on love. The dance they do around one another looks and feels exactly like a budding romance. However, if they don’t call it that, then it can be whatever they want it to be. Or so they think.
Nevertheless release date
The romance between these two leads will come to life on Sunday, June 20. According to What’s on Netflix, the series will have a 10-episode run with each episode being 70 minutes long. One episode will drop each week.
