Netflix: Yes Day 2 starring Jennifer Garner is happening at Netflix

One of the best family comedy movies of the past year was definitely the Netflix original film Yes Day. Since its release in March 2021, families have been looking forward to more news on a potential Yes Day 2, and it seems Netflix and star Jennifer Garner have some good news for you.

Based on the book of the same name by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, Yes Day stars Garner and Édgar Ramírez as parents Allison and Carlos Torres as they offer their children a full day where they say “yes” to any of their requests.

Although the family comedy received middling reception from critics, families loved the original film and bolstered Yes Day to an impressive viewership of about 62 million households within the first month of its release on Netflix.

Obviously, those numbers are grounds for a Yes Day sequel, and Netflix has finally shared news families will love about Yes Day 2. Likewise, if you’re a Jennifer Garner fan, expect to see a lot more of the Golden Globe-winning star on your watch list in the future.

Is Yes Day 2 happening at Netflix?

As reported by Deadline, Netflix just said a big “yes” to Yes Day 2. The streamer has officially put the sequel into development with Garner set to star and produce the follow-up movie. Additional casting and synopsis details weren’t included in Netflix’s initial announcement.

Yes Day 2 comes in tandem with the announcement that Garner signed a multi-picture deal with Netflix, which will see the talented star headlining and producing new titles on the streaming giant. She’ll next be seen in The Adam Project and Family Leave, though they aren’t part of the new deal.

Yes Day 2 release date predictions

Currently, Netflix hasn’t given a timeframe on the Yes Day 2 release date, and fans of the first family favorite shouldn’t anticipate the sequel to arrive in 2021. Once Garner’s busy schedule opens up, we should receive more news on the production of the Yes Day sequel.

For now, expect Yes Day 2 to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2022, potentially as another spring or summer tentpole for families. If the sequel isn’t fast-tracked for a release next year, Garner and co. will definitely be back in action in 2023.

Stay tuned for more Yes Day 2 release date news and updates from Netflix Life!
