Apple Maps now offers parking information for more than 8,000 places throughout the United States and Canada, thanks to a collaboration with the parking app SpotHero. Filtering options for parking include E.V. charging, a wheelchair available, and more.
When searching for a well-known location on an iPhone, such as Madison Square Garden in New York or Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, users can open the Apple Maps app, select the location, tap the “More” button, select the “Parking” option from the menu, and continue to look for and reserve nearby parking on the SpotHero website without leaving Apple Maps. According to SpotHero, the capability will also be available on a Mac.
2019 saw the launch of Apple’s updated Maps app, which includes more information, better navigation, unique 3D representations of well-known sites, immersive turn-by-turn walking directions enabled by augmented reality, and more. The new parking option advances Apple’s objective of making the app an all-in-one navigation resource.
