New Resident Evil 3 artworks on PlayStation Store, points for another remake

Following the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake, a leak indicates that Capcom may have the next entry shortly before release. Two new artworks for Resident Evil 3 (called Biohazard in Japan) appeared for a short time on the Japanese PlayStation Digital Store. These were collected by gamestat, a website that tracks Sony’s software and applications.

One of the listings is clearly intended for the Resident Evil 3 core game, the other is called “Z version” – probably a deluxe version of some variety. There is a possibility that Capcom might re-release the classic version with some changes, but the smart money is in another remake that could debut next week at The Game Awards.

Gamestat’s data also shows the boxing style for the previously announced Resident Evil Co-op survival game, code-named Project Resistance. According to the leak, Project Resistance is now called Resident Evil Resistance. We may find out the answers to all these questions during the Game Awards, but given the gap we would not be surprised if Capcom makes this official before.
