Newport name Cardiff first-team coach James Rowberry as club’s new manager,

Newport has confirmed the appointment of Cardiff first-team coach James Rowberry as the club’s new manager.

Rowberry arrives on Rodney Parade as Michael Flynn’s permanent successor, who left the exiles earlier this month after four years in to upload.

the 36-year-old is no stranger in County, because he was a youth player there, and a one-time coach in the Newport Academy. To be first game in charge is set to be Saturday’s League Two trip to Bristol Rovers.

Wayne Hatswell, who has been in intermediate charge while the club have completed their leadership quest, again lead the team again on Tuesday for the visitors of carlisle, with Rowberry gave a viewing order from the stands.

A statement on the Newport club website read: “In addition to our recent recruitment communications, the club are pleased to announce the appointment of James Rowberry as our new manager.

“The appointment comes after an extensive search to find the right person to join Newport County AFC over to take forward.”

Cardiff confirms Rowberry’s departure, writing: on their Twitter feed: “James is leaving with our very best to wish. we should like to thank him for all of to be hard work during his time with the Bluebirds.”
