Turkish authorities asked a member of the Brotherhood to leave his territory after violating his instructions and broadcasting videos critical of Egypt and the political system.

After receiving a request from the authorities, Brotherhood activist Yasser Al-Omda announced his departure from Turkish territory. Following the videos he aired on his page about social media criticizing Egypt and the regime and calling on the Egyptians to mobilize and revolt against the regime.

Leave Turkey for another country

The mayor broadcast a video of him on the plane that brought him from Istanbul, stressing that he had left Turkey for another country and hinting that this was done at the behest of the Turkish authorities, who had warned him recently and several times. not to broadcast offensive videos to Egypt and the regime, but ignored those instructions and continued to broadcast them.

Yasser Al-Omda, whose full name is Yasser Abdel Halim Ahmed Abdel Hafeez, worked as an administrative clerk in the port of Damietta before fleeing to Turkey.

The criminal court in Cairo included him among the 187 defendants on the terrorist list for a period of 5 years.

In December 2017, the Egyptian Interior Ministry announced Yasser Al-Omda’s involvement in inciting the overthrow of the regime, broadcasting a video on the Internet. in which he urged citizens to demonstrate and commit acts of violence against state institutions, followed by the transmission of the so-called “Ghalaba” movement he founded and affiliated with the Brotherhood and its elements to use the so-called blessed bomb.

The Egyptian Interior Ministry has indicated that the blessed arrow is a concrete block with many nails that are thrown at citizens with the aim of wounding them and on autos to damage their tires with the aim of disrupting circulation and creating chaos to suggest a state of lawlessness and instability, contrary to the truth.

Turkish authorities had called a year ago to restrict the Brotherhood’s satellite channels, which broadcast from Istanbul, and to prevent their criticism of Egypt, against the backdrop of courtship with Cairo and an attempt to get closer to it.

Ankara has asked the Brotherhood broadcaster Moataz Matar to stop its programs and media activities in Turkey, in particular on his YouTube channel and on his Facebook page.Matar has already left Turkey and is currently residing in Great Britain.

Following that, Ankara suspended a number of Brotherhood broadcasters’ programs, including those run by Mohamed Nasser, Hamza Zobaa, the artist Hisham Abdullah, Haitham Abu Khalil, and Hossam Al-Ghamry, and forbade others from discussing the issue with them unless they agreed to stop criticizing Egypt.

Turkey announced that it would resume diplomatic relations with Egypt last year when Deputy Foreign Minister Sadat Unal led a delegation to visit Egypt. It was the first time that this had happened. Since 2013, “exploratory” talks have been held in Cairo with Egyptian officials led by Deputy Foreign Minister Hamdi Sanad Loza.

Four months later, on September 7-8, the Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister visited Ankara at the helm of an Egyptian diplomatic delegation to hold a second round of exploratory talks.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the two delegations discussed bilateral issues as well as a number of regional issues, such as Libya, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and the Eastern Mediterranean, and agreed to continue these consultations and affirm their desire to fulfill progress in discussion and the need to take further steps to facilitate the normalization of relations between the two parties.
