A Delta Airlines flight bound for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport faced a serious delay due to engine problems, resulting in an unexpected landing on an isolated island. Passengers Stranded for Over 31 Hours

The Airbus A330, carrying 282 passengers and 13 crew members, made the unscheduled stop following a mechanical alert. Delta Airlines confirmed that passengers deplaned safely and were provided accommodations and meals while awaiting further arrangements.

After a lengthy stay on the island, a replacement aircraft transported everyone from the Azores on Monday evening. The new flight took off at 9:07 p.m. GMT and arrived in New York at approximately 10:36 p.m. ET, more than 31 hours later than initially scheduled.
