Netflix is set to release ‘BERLIN‘ on December 29th, a spinoff of the popular series ‘La Casa de Papel’. The spinoff follows the iconic character played by Pedro Alonso, who returns to the role of the hedonistic and clever Berlin.
BERLIN Plot
In BERLIN, the plot centers around one of Berlin’s most extraordinary Money Heist. During his golden years, when he still has no knowledge of his illness and hasn’t been trapped in the Spanish Mint, Berlin prepares to make jewels worth 44 million disappear like magic. To execute this heist, he enlists the help of one of the three gangs he has previously stolen with.

BERLIN Cast
Alongside Pedro Alonso, who plays Berlin, the spinoff features an ensemble cast. Michelle Jenner, known for her role in ‘Isabel’, portrays Keila, an expert in electronic engineering. Tristán Ulloa from ‘Fariña’ takes on the role of Damián, a philanthropic professor and Berlin’s confidant. Begoña Vargas, known for ‘Welcome to Eden’, portrays Cameron, a kamikaze who constantly lives on the edge. Julio Peña Fernández, from ‘Through My Window’, brings to life Roi, Berlin’s faithful squire. Joel Sánchez plays Bruce, the relentless man of action in the gang. Itziar Ituño and Najwa Nimri, reprising their roles from ‘La Casa de Papel’, return as policewomen Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra respectively. Samantha Siqueiros, Julien Paschal, Masi Rodríguez, and Rachel Lascar complete the cast of ‘BERLIN’.
The Directors and Writers of ‘BERLIN’
The eight episodes of the series are created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, the minds behind ‘La Casa de Papel’ and ‘Sky Rojo’. The writing team includes Álex Pina, Esther Martínez Lobato, David Barrocal, David Oliva, and Lorena G. Maldonado. The directing duties for ‘BERLIN’ are shared by Albert Pintó, known for ‘Sky Rojo’ and ‘Malasaña 32’, David Barrocal from ‘Sky Rojo’, and Geoffrey Cowper from ‘Day Release’.

‘BERLIN’ explores the two things that can turn a bad day into a great one: love and a payday worth millions. As Berlin navigates his golden years, still unaware of his illness and free from the confines of the Spanish Mint, he plans one of his most extraordinary heists – making jewels worth 44 million vanish. To accomplish this, he calls on the help of one of the three gangs he has previously worked with.
With a star-studded cast, gripping storytelling, and the creative team behind the hugely successful ‘La Casa de Papel’, ‘BERLIN’ promises to captivate audiences when it premieres on Netflix on December 29th.
