A well-known member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Republican Senator Jim Risch stepped in to stop the Houthi militants from taking UN humanitarian aid meant for school children. He said that the Houthis were hungry and did not care about the people they were in charge of.

Before, the Houthi militia in Yemen asked the World Food Program to send food aid to the places they controlled, so the people who needed it most could not get it.
