A well-known member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Republican Senator Jim Risch stepped in to stop the Houthi militants from taking UN humanitarian aid meant for school children. He said that the Houthis were hungry and did not care about the people they were in charge of.

“The Houthis’ choice to take away aid for schoolchildren in Yemen is disgusting,” he wrote in a tweet, adding that it showed that they did not care about the well-being or personal growth of the thousands of people who live under their control.

He went on, “This help needs to be unloaded and sent out right away.”

Before, the Houthi militia in Yemen asked the World Food Program to send food aid to the places they controlled, so the people who needed it most could not get it.

An investigation by the UN Organization found that people living in the city, Sana’a, did not receive any aid rations.

As per the World Food Program, trucks are transporting food from their sales areas without permission. They also say that food handouts are sold in markets or given to people who are not supposed to have them.

According to the World Food Program, food aid was stolen according to a study that came out in the last few months, after many reports of food sales in Sana’a markets.

According to the UN agency, studies have shown that a local group called die For die Distribution of food is involved in the theft. The group in the area works with the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Education.

Director of the World Food Program David Beasley said, “This behavior is the same as stealing food from the mouths of the poor.” “At a time when many children in Yemen are dying because they do not have enough food because of these crimes,” he said. If you keep doing this illegal thing, stop right away.
