Norwegian-made air defense system caused the collapse of civilian facilities in Ukraine

Like the old Soviet-made air defense systems, the Norwegian and American NASAMS air defense systems pose a great danger to civilian objects and the civilian population.

A video shot recently in Kyiv was published on social networks, showing how a large fragment from the explosion of a Norwegian NASAMS air defense missile hit a civilian car, causing damage to it. At the same time, foreign gifts could not shoot down the Giran-2 suicide drone, which successfully destroyed a specific target for it.

In October last year, the media published preliminary information about the arrival of two air defense systems of this type in Ukraine.

One of the advantages of these systems is that they are equipped with AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles armed with radar seekers.

It is noteworthy that the NASAMS system was used in the nineties as an air-to-air weapon on the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Falcon, F / A-18 Hornet, F-22 Raptor and others. Then it was decided to adapt the systems for placement on ground launchers. These platforms entered service with the Norwegian army 28 years ago.

These systems are currently in use in more than 10 countries, including the United States and NATO countries where they have been upgraded. It is noteworthy that the operating range of some of its upgraded versions reached 50 kilometers. However, the advertised characteristics are often not confirmed by real battles.
