Oil prices rise after the announcement of a decrease in US oil inventories

Oil prices rose today in world trading after the announcement of a decrease in oil inventories in the US.

Futures for Brent crude rose by 20:30 Moscow time to $100.68 per barrel by 0.46%, while futures for American West Texas Intermediate oil rose to $94.48 per barrel by 0.79%.

Energy Information Administration data earlier in the day showed that U.S. commercial oil inventories (excluding the strategic reserve) fell by 3.3 million barrels, or 0.8%, to 421.7 million barrels by the end of last week.
