Oil prices rise amid weakening dollar

Oil prices rose in trading today, Tuesday, in light of the depreciation of the dollar and supported by high expectations of global demand for black gold.

And by 11:14 Moscow time, futures for American West Texas Intermediate oil rose 1.76% to $88.05 per barrel.

Meanwhile, according to the Bloomberg website, futures for Brent crude rose 1.96% to $94.63 a barrel.

In the foreign exchange market, the dollar index, which measures the value of the US currency against a basket of major currencies, fell 0.59% to 110.86 points.
