On his twentieth birthday Discover the history of Xbox

The first Xbox appeared at Microsoft about twenty years ago and since then the company has launched four different generations with many devices, games and accessories exclusive to it.

The design of the device and the way in which is called has changed a lot since the first device appeared, as has Microsoft’s position in the field of home games.

Since the design and the name change so much, some users may be confused about the new and old generations of the device, so we bring you this quick review of the history of the device and the changes it has undergone over the past twenty years.

The first generation of Xbox

Microsoft used the letter X in everything related to his device, whether it was in the device name or his design is in the design of its accessories. As a result, you find that the device is shaped like a large black box and in the center is the word Xbox in a green circle.

And if you look at the device from above, you find an X engraved on the top of the device and Microsoft relied on this name because of the DirectX technology it was trying to market.

For this reason, the goal of the first generation of platforms differs from the rest, as it was just a tool to advertise and showcase the capabilities of DirectX technology.

And the device has four ports in the interface to connect its control levers with an internal power supply and an Ethernet port. Unlike later generations, the first generation didn’t get a slim version of the device, but its control arm was thinned.

The first generation Xbox controller was called Duke due to its large size, which was difficult to use. The company then launched a slightly thinner and smaller controller called the Controller S, which is the official controller in the Japanese region.

Xbox 360

The design Xbox has changed a lot with the second generation of the device, as it became based on the color white in the default version of it. The company relied on a design simpler and even on a simpler logo, and the second generation is considered the first device to compete in significantly in PlayStation sales.

The device suffered from a red ring of death problem of death The famous and Microsoft have extended the warranty of the device and released new copies of it that do not suffer from this problem, as this problem was causing damage to the device completely.

And the device has two memory card slots in the front as well as a hard drive that you can change in some versions. Microsoft then released two different versions of the Xbox 360, in which appeared the slim and E.

The slim version has a design slightly thinner and smaller on the sides with a glossy outer layer covering the entire device.

The device features multiple USB ports, a built-in Wi-Fi sensor, and the use of a SATA hard drive instead of the old one.

As for the E generation of the device, it didn’t offer many updates in terms of hardware or specs, but the only difference was that it was similar to Xbox One in the design.

Xbox One

Microsoft entered the Xbox One era with massive pre-generation X360 success, but unfortunately that success didn’t last. With this generation, Microsoft has been trying to make the Xbox platform a complete entertainment platform that doesn’t need anything else in home. As a result, it added a lot of unclaimed and unclaimed features like Record TV in live or watch it during playback.

The company hasn’t tried to augment the device’s hardware to make it in able to perform all these new features, but the device was much weaker than the PlayStation 4.
Due to all of these factors, the third generation of Xbox platforms did not meet the desired success, which prompted Microsoft to change its mid-generation policy.

Xbox One S and Xbox One X

Although these two devices are considered an update of the Xbox One generation, they have introduced many developments on the platform that have brought it back in competition. Xbox One S is a smaller version of Xbox One, but with many improvements in terms of hardware and functionality. This device is equipped with a Blu-ray Disc player that automatically supports the resolution of display 4K and support for streaming content in 4K and HDR.

As for Xbox One X, this is a full-fledged hardware upgrade from the first generation of the device, with a design similar to it. Xbox One X can play games and content in 4K resolution and color HDR automatically thanks to its new hardware. The device had a design slightly smaller than previous devices with dimensions very close to the slim Xbox One S.

The current generation of Xbox

Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are the current generation of Microsoft’s gaming platform and the two are very popular. These devices are equipped with more hardware power than the previous generation, with upgrades to the graphics processor and core hardware. Xbox Series S aims to run games in 1440p instead of in 4K, so it comes at a cheaper price.

The device also lacks an optical disc player, due to its small size and small price savings and its reliance on download digital.

As for the Xbox Series X, it is considered to be one of the most powerful devices currently available from Microsoft and is superior to the PlayStation 5 in terms of hardware power. Comes with a design very different than all other platforms released by Microsoft which caused quite a stir.

Microsoft hasn’t accomplished much on the design of the hardware joystick and relied on the design last year with new specifications in terms of connecting the arm to the device and battery life.
