One dead, 5 wounded in the attack with the knife on the shelter for asylum seekers in Germany

An attacker stabbed several people with a knife inside an asylum shelter in southern Germany, killing one man and injuring at least five others, the dpa reported on Monday.

The agency said the attacker, who is said to be a resident of the shelter, knocked on the doors of the building’s rooms – located in the town of Kresbronn on Lake Constance – on Sunday evening.

The agency reported that when the residents opened the door, it proceeded to stab them.

One man died immediately from his injuries and five others were injured in hospital in ambulance and one of them was seriously injured.
It was not clear if others were injured.

Police arrested one man, who was not named in compliance with the German privacy policy, in front of the reception center for asylum seekers.

On Monday morning, forensic experts intervened on the scene for the investigation.
