Undersecretary to the Egyptian Ministry of Health of Marsa Matrouh Governorate, Dr. Ahmed El-Beltagy, said the incident occurred between a tour bus carrying vacationers on the via return to Cairo, and heavy transport, on the Matrouh-Alexandria International Coastal Road.
Has explained, in statements to “Sky News Arabia” that the bus collided with the means of transport from behind in the village of Galala, west of the city of El-Dabaa, as a result of which the bus driver died instantly , while 43 others were injured and taken in hospital for treatment.
He said that as soon as he received notification of the occurrence of the incident, the affected agencies moved in coordination between the Ministry of Health and the Matrouh Governorate and more than 15 ambulances were paid to transport the wounded to hospitals. He pointed out that 4 cases among the injured have undergone improvement and have been discharged from the hospital, while 35 cases are in the El-Dabaa hospital for treatment, most of them children, while another 4 cases in need of special care were transferred to El Alamein and Matrouh General Hospitals. This comes when a prosecution team moved to the scene to inspect and determine the incident causeand prosecutors also moved to hospitals to hear the testimony of the injured.
