Over 14,000 Games Now Compatible with Steam Deck Two Years After Launch, Valve Confirms
Great news for Steam Deck users! Over 14,000 games are now compatible with Valve’s handheld device, two years after its launch.
According to tracking site SteamDB (via Gaming on Linux), there are currently 14,023 Steam Deck compatible titles. Of these, 4,607 have been ‘Verified’ by Valve, meaning they work perfectly on the Steam Deck without any tweaking needed. The remaining 9,416 games are ‘Playable’, but may require some manual adjustments by the user.
Valve is going through the entire Steam catalog and assigning each game one of four ratings to indicate how well it runs on the Steam Deck. The other two categories games can fall into are ‘Unsupported’ or ‘Unknown’.
Players can check their game library on the Steam Deck Compatibility page by logging into their Steam account to see which games have been tested so far.
For a game to be Deck Verified by Valve, it must pass four tests: Input, Display, Seamlessness, and System Support.
Additionally, a record 14,535 games were released on Steam in 2023, with 3,160 games released so far this year. Steam has upcoming promotions, including its Spring Sale launching this week.
