The Pakistani Supreme Court asked Prime Minister Imran Khan about his relationship with the Pakistani Taliban on Wednesday. The Pakistani Taliban are the armed group that attacked an army-run school in 2014 and killed nearly 150 people, mostly students.
As soon as the Supreme Court called Prime Minister Imran Khan, they questioned him. This happened just two days after the government announced a one-month peace with the Pakistani Taliban, which is not the same group as the Afghan Taliban.
People did not like Khan’s decision to talk to the Taliban, who decided to stop fighting until December 9. Both sides of the deal said that the Taliban government in Afghanistan negotiated it so that they could set the pace in Pakistan.
It will be seven years since the Pakistani Taliban attacked the school and killed 147 people, including 132 children. The end of the truce comes before that date.
A lot of Pakistanis were angry about the talks with the terrorists during the truce.
News from Pakistani daily Dawn said that on Wednesday, the judges asked Khan if we were “bringing them (the Pakistani Taliban) back to the bargaining table instead of taking action against them.”
The newspaper also said that the judges told Khan, “You are in charge.” The government is also on your side. What did you do? “You brought the people responsible for the attack on the school to the bargaining table,” she said.
For his part, Khan said that he would punish the careless suspect who was responsible for the attack after a new probe. After four weeks, the next meeting will happen.
The police said they caught everyone who planned or took part in the attack. Five shooters were put to death by hanging as their sentence from the military court came to an end.
The families of the students who were killed want the army leaders who were careless and let the attack happen to be punished.
