The ministry said that “citizen Daoud Mahmoud Khalil Rayan (42) was martyred after being shot in the heart by Israeli occupation forces”.
The agency indicated that Daoud is the second dead man from the city of Beit Duqo in 24 hours, as yesterday, Wednesday, another Palestinian was killed by Israeli army bullets near a military checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Beit Ur, west of Ramallah.
Additionally, Israeli police said yesterday Palestinian Badr Amer was killed by Israeli bullets after stabbing an Israeli officer in East Jerusalem’s Old City, according to the Jerusalem Post.
According to the police, the officers identified the man who was behaving in suspicious way inarea of Iron Gate and started interrogating him, and she said, “During the investigation of the suspect, he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the officers in the upper part of his body.” Two other officers shot Amer, who is from the Beit Hanina neighborhood in East Jerusalem, which led to his death, according to the newspaper.
The newspaper also pointed out that another officer was slightly injured by colleague’s fire as his colleagues shot the assailant.
