Pasalic gives Croatia the victory in Denmark

COPENHAGEN: Mario Pasalic’s goal in the second half gave Croatia a 1-0 victory in home of Denmark in Group A in the first tier of the UEFA Nations League after playmaker Luka Modric came on as a substitute and changed the tide on Friday. The best chance of the first half went to Denmark’s Andreas Cornelius, whose goal was disallowed before half-time due to a mistake by Joachim Maille in the construction of the attack. Modric participated in the second half and took a corner kick followed by Pasalic to score the only goal with a shot between the legs of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Denmark, whose goal was canceled by Jonas Wind in the 87th minute, are still in lead the group with six points in three games and will host Austria on Monday. Third-placed Croatia will visit bottom-placed France in Paris. (Reuters)
