Pokémon Concierge: Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Plot, and Everything We Know So Far

Since Pokémon is one of the most popular video game series in the world, it’s not a surprise that the series is now hitting TV screens again with Pokémon Concierge. It’s clear that this is not the first time that Pokémon has been shown on a cartoon TV show. Even people who don’t watch the show very often know about Ash Ketchum (Veronica Taylor) and his friends’ adventures in the Pokémon cartoon series, which ended not long ago after 25 years on air. In addition, Ash’s story continued in more than a dozen cartoon movies that were made into full-length movies.

Pokémon Concierge

There will still be Pokémon games and cartoons, but the popular anime show is no longer airing. A lot more stories can be told in this world. Several video games are currently being worked on, and a long-awaited follow-up to the live-action movie Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is also said to be on the way. A new Pokémon animation series is being made, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo, the company that owns The Pokémon Company, said at their “Pokémon Presents” digital event on February 27, 2023. That show is Pokémon Concierge, and it will show the famous pocket monsters in a whole new way as they take a vacation to a tropical island. Here is everything we know so far about Pokémon Concierge, including how it’s being made, whether it will be streamed, which animation company is working on it, and more.

Who’s In the Voice Cast of ‘Pokémon Concierge’?

People will speak both English and Japanese in the show, which will have a few human characters and a lot of Pokémon. Karen Fukuhara voices Haru in Pokémon Concierge, Imani Hakim voices Alisa, Josh Keaton voices Tyler, and Lori Alan voices Watanabe. In Japan, Non plays Haru, Ai Fairouz plays Alisa, Okuno Eita plays Tyler, and Takemura Yoshiko plays Watanabe.

What is the Release Date of Pokémon Concierge?

We got both the official video and the date that Pokémon Concierge will be out. Netflix will have the show on December 28, 2023.

As soon as the show was announced in February, none of the companies involved gave a release date or window for Pokémon Concierge. The video only said “Coming Soon.” That could mean that the animation show will be out by the end of the year or in three years, so it’s good to know that we can “catch ’em all” at the beautiful holiday spot so soon. Netflix has a history of showing versions of shows and movies that already exist, especially when it comes to video games. Netflix has had a lot of success with shows like Castlevania and The Cuphead Show! More shows based on game franchises like Gears of War, Assassin’s Creed, Bioshock, and more are reportedly on the way, so it makes sense that Nintendo would choose Netflix for their new Pokémon show. However, this is probably not good news for Warner Brothers Discovery because they would probably rather have the show come to their newly remade service Max, since they are already working with Nintendo on the next Pokémon game.

Is There a Trailer for ‘Pokémon Concierge’?

The first video for Pokémon Concierge came out on February 27, 2023, during the Pokémon Presents show. People looking for important plot clues won’t find them in the short (30-second) trailer. Still, the film gives us a good idea of what to expect from this one-of-a-kind animated show set in the world of Pokémon. Before we hear a voice-over in Japanese, the video mostly shows a calm beach with sand. The lines of conversation read: “This is Pokémon Resort.” Pokémon are here as guests. This is the story of the resort’s front desk clerk. The simple line of speech is paired with a Psyduck that looks just like it does: confused. Then, on July 2, a behind-the-scenes movie came out with Non, who voices the main character in the Japanese version of the show. Check it out below:

The video for Pokémon Concierge finally came out on November 15. We meet the main character, the Concierge, who is new to a Pokémon lodge, and get a good look at the show’s beautiful animation. Check out the video in the player below, and stay tuned for more:

Will ‘Pokémon Concierge’ Get a Season 2?

It’s not clear if Pokémon Concierge is going to be the first show in a new brand or if it will only be a one-season show. If the first option is Netflix’s plan, it will probably rest on how well the show does and how many people watch it. Still, this is Pokémon, so it shouldn’t have too much trouble getting people to like it.

What’s the Plot of ‘Pokémon Concierge’ Plot?

The official plot synopsis for Pokémon Concierge reads as follows:

Set at a resort for Pokémon on a southern island, this is the story of a new concierge named Haru, who gradually discovers herself as she and her fellow staff members scramble to attend to the various Pokémon guests.

Because most of the Pokémon stories in movies, TV shows, and video games are separate from each other, it’s not possible that Pokémon Concierge will directly connect with any other established Pokémon stories. Also, this is the first time we’ve seen the Pokémon Universe in stop-motion. This means that the new series is more like an Aardman movie than a standard Japanese anime like the main show.
