Preliminary results of the Israeli elections .. 26 seats for Netanyahu

The Likud party of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took first place in Israeli legislative elections, close to winning a majority, according to the exit polls, but that could change with the publication of the official results.

According to opinion polls conducted by three major Israeli media networks, the right-wing Likud party took the top spot with 30 or 31 seats in the 120-member parliament.

The prime forecasts also showed that Netanyahu’s party and its allies won 61 or 62 seats, enough to win a majority. in parliament (Knesset).

However, slight differences in numbers with the counting of votes and the issuance of official results may have radically changed the scene.

It seems that the Yesh Atid party led by Prime Minister Yair Lapid will come in second place, according to the expectations that gave it between 22 and 24

a place. Thus, according to the prime TV networks forecasts, the “anti-Netanyahu” bloc as a whole has not achieved any victory.

In addition, the Al-Arabiya correspondent in Jerusalem confirmed that the Arab parties in Israel got 9 seats.

Interestingly, these legislative elections coincide with the escalation of violence in East Jerusalem and in West Bank, occupied by Israel in 1967.
