Prince Philip is released from hospital before Royal Christmas in Sandringham

After spending four nights at King Edward VII Hospital in London, Prince Philip was released just in time to spend Christmas with the royal family at Queen’s Sandringham Estate. The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to hospital late last week as a “precautionary measure” to treat a “pre-existing condition”.

According to People Magazine, when Prince Philip was released, he was taken by helicopter from hospital in Norfolk, England – where Queen Elizabeth Sandringham’s estate is located – so that he could join his wife and family. .

“The Duke of Edinburgh left the hospital today after being released by his doctor and is now back in Sandringham,” the palace said in a statement. “Her Royal Highness would like to thank all those who sent their good wishes.”

Although the palace did not give details of why the 98-year-old man was admitted to the hospital, his son, Prince Charles, said that “when you reach this age, things don’t not work so well. “

Buckingham Palace on Friday released a statement regarding the hospitalization of Prince Philip. Officials said the Duke of Edinburgh traveled from Norfolk to King Edward VII Hospital in London for “observation and treatment in connection with a pre-existing condition”. They also insisted that it was not an emergency, but rather an expected admission on the advice of His Royal Highness’ doctor.

Instead of going to the hospital by ambulance, Prince Philip traveled in a private car and “entered the hospital unaided”.

While Prince Philip was undergoing treatment, Queen Elizabeth made her annual train journey from London to Norfolk, which is part of her Christmas tradition. On Christmas Day, the Queen and her family will take their annual public walk from the estate to the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine church. This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be joining the family as they have chosen to spend their vacation in Canada.

However, royal insiders say that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will make their Christmas debut this year. And Queen Elizabeth’s annual Christmas speech will also be broadcast on Christmas Day, which will be broadcast on television, online and on the radio.

As for Prince Philip, he retired from public life over two years ago and has faced a number of health problems in recent years. He is still trying to be part of family events, like weddings, as he was present for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018 and for the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kiingston in May 2019.

Prince Philip also participated in the iconic photo after the birth of Archie Harrison, who also starred Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Markle’s mother Doria Ragland.
