Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Moscow that Russia and China should work together to promote the liberalization and facilitation of bilateral trade and investment.
“The parties should promote the synchronous development of economic and trade cooperation, promote the liberalization of trade and investment, and maintain the security and stability of production and supply chains,” Xi said.
The Chinese President noted that Beijing considers it very important to link the Belt and Road Initiative with the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan).
“China attaches great importance to cooperation to create a joint link between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.
The Chinese President arrived in Russia on Monday for a three-day visit, his first trip abroad since his re-election as Chinese President.
