Protests against the arrest of lawyers and activists. They tried to quote in Khamenei judgment

A group of Iranians ran a campaign on social media to demand the release of lawyers and activists arrested by the Iranian authorities for attempting to sue in Supreme leader Ali Khamenei and senior regime officials are charged with the premeditated murder of thousands of coronavirus patients.

The campaign began in support of lawyers and civil activists demanding justice and in protest against officials whose management, according to activists, has resulted in the killing of tens of thousands of people in Iran.

In parallel, more than 50 lawyers and jurists have asked in a letter to the head of Iranian justice, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ajeeh, the immediate release of these lawyers and civil activists.

The fifty lawyers added in their letter that “this procedure is a clear example of arbitrary arrest and an obstacle to the right to litigation under Article 9 of the Constitution and subject to Article 570 of the Islamic Penal Code”.

In their letter, they also stressed the need to prosecute and punish the security and judicial forces who have arrested lawyers and civil activists on charges of “abusing their power against the public interest”.

The detainees were taken in an unknown place

It is reported that among the detainees, 5 lawyers are: Arash Kaykhosravi, Mustafa Nili, Muhammad Reza Faqihi, Muhammad Hadi Irfanian Kasib and Laila Haidari, as well as civil activist Maryam Afraz and political activist Mahdi Mahmoudian, who have been transferred in an unknown location after the arrest.

Security forces also confiscated some of their personal belongings, including cell phones.

Khamenei had explicitly banned the import in Iran of US and British-made vaccines on February 7.

Ever since Khamenei issued an order banning the import of US and UK Corona vaccines in Iran, nearly 40,000 people have died – according to official data – from the Corona virus infection, and the death toll has gone from around 50 per day to over 600 per day.
