The final batch of free PlayStation Plus games are about to be released for December 2021.

It’s been a fantastic year for PS Plus subscribers, who have been treated to hit games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Days Gone, Control Ultimate Edition and Battlefield 5.

The December 2021 line-up retains these high-standards, featuring the likes of Godfall Challenger Edition, Mortal Shell and LEGO DC Super Villains.

That’s on top of PSVR titles Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, The Persistence, and Until You Fall, which remain in the line-up for another month.

If you’re looking to get your hands on the PlayStation Plus games for December 2021, then you’ll be pleased to hear that you don’t have long to wait.

The next wave of PS Plus free games have a December 7 release date on PS5 and PS4. The games should be available by midday at the latest.

Subscribers can download the aforementioned titles until the same time on January 3.

Needless to say, this is your last chance warning to download and play the November PS Plus games, which include Knockout City, First Class Trouble and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning.

Speaking of the December PS Plus games, the highlight is arguably Godfall Challenger Edition, which is a reworked version of the PS5 launch title.

“Godfall is a looter-slasher set in a bright fantasy universe filled with heroic knights and arcane magic,” reads the official description.

“Embark on adventure in a fantasy action RPG that utilises high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armour sets and defeat vicious enemies.

“The Challenger Edition focuses on three unique modes: Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials. All three are endgame-level content, but you’ll be immediately equipped with a spread of deadly weapons and skill points, letting you team up with up to two other players in co-op.

“Perfect your build and smash your enemies. Challenger Edition’s endgame co-op is compatible with all upgraded editions of Godfall & supports cross-gen play. Godfall: Challenger Edition players can upgrade at any time to the Deluxe Edition gaining access to both Godfall and Fire & Darkness campaigns.”

Mortal Shell, on the other hand, is a Dark Souls-inspired adventure game with a unique twist.

Players can actually occupy the bodies of defeated enemies, which creates some interesting gameplay possibilities.

If you want something a little lighter, then LEGO DC Super Villains is the game for you.

The LEGO DC spinoff focuses on the villains of the comic book world, with the likes of Joker, Harley Quinn and General Zod taking centre stage.

“It’s good to be bad… Embark on an all-new DC Lego adventure by becoming the best villain the universe has seen.

“Players will create and play as an all-new super-villain throughout the game, unleashing mischievous antics and wreaking havoc in an action-packed story.

“Set in an open world experience within the DC universe, the Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to their counterparts, who have proclaimed themselves as the ‘Justice Syndicate’. It’s up to you and a crazy group of misfits to uncover the intentions of Earth’s new, strange, wannabe superheroes.”
