Putin aims to double trade volume with China after signing two documents

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the documents signed with China today, on Tuesday, there is a goal to double the volume of trade with it.

The Russian President’s statement was made at a press conference held after the signing ceremony of two documents between Moscow and Beijing – a document aimed at deepening Russian-Chinese relations and a plan for the development of economic cooperation until 2030.

The President of Russia said: “The joint statement on the plan for the development of the main areas of economic cooperation until 2030 set the task of doubling the volume of trade and deepening relations in eight strategic areas.”

Putin pointed out that trade between Russia and China reached a historical record, exceeding $185 billion in 2022, while trade between the two countries is expected to exceed $200 billion this year.

“Additional opportunities for unlocking the potential of the Russian and Chinese economies are provided by the Eurasian Union and the Chinese President’s initiative (“One Belt, One Road”),” the President of Russia said.
