Our preparations continue to host the historic World Cup next year on schedule and we look forward to receiving fans at Stadium 974 for the first time later this month. “Stadium 974 is located next to the historic Doha harbor, with a panoramic view of Doha’s towers over the Gulf waters, and fans can access the new stadium via the Doha Metro Gold Line’s Ras Bu Aboud station, which is only 800 meters from the stadium. seating capacity of 40,000, it will host seven matches of the Qatar 2022 World Cup from the group stage to the round of 16, while it will witness six matches of the Arab Cup organized by Qatar from November 30 to December 18, including the first two semi-finals, and the match for third place. The new sports building is considered the seventh stadium ready to host the 2022 World Cup and joins six other stadiums that have been completed, namely the international stadium and Khalifa, Al Janoub Stadium, Education City Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium and Al Thumama Stadium, which opened last month in coinciding with hosting the Il Principe Cup final, in addition to the Al Bayt Stadium, which should open on the first day of the Arab Cup competitions. Thanks to his design innovative; Stadium 974 does not require the cooling technology used in the rest of the World Cup stadiums, as the stadium’s unique location on the shores of the Arabian Gulf helps provide an unparalleled experience for fans who will watch matches as if they were in the open air. Much of the stadium structure is built in recycled steel, while the advanced equipment guarantees a saving of 40% in water consumption, compared to other traditional stadiums.
