Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the fraternal state of Qatar, this morning sponsored the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students nominated to the Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy, at the Academy headquarters in the Northern Region. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Interior Minister, and a number of Sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries, heads of diplomatic missions and state-accredited military attachés, and senior military and security officials from a number of fraternal and friendly countries. Also present were some senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior, the Emir’s Guard, the State Security Agency, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), parents of the graduates and guests of the ceremony .
The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem and the leader of the queue requested permission from Sheikh Tamim to inspect the graduate queue, which numbered (64) graduates from the State of Qatar. After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and showing the route of the Graduate Parade and Military Parade, His Highness the Emir honored the 8 outstanding students of the group, in so that the flag was received and handed over from the first group to the second group, and the order of appointment of graduates was read. After the ceremony, the officers of the first batch took the oath and anthem.
