Quake 2 Remaster to be Unveiled at Quakecon 2023: All You Need to Know

A Remastered Version of Quake 2 Set to be Announced at Quakecon

According to reliable leaker billbil-kun, a remastered version of Quake 2 will be officially unveiled at Quakecon. The game was previously spotted on a ratings board listing earlier this year.

It’s uncertain whether the game will be titled “Remastered” or “Enhanced,” as the leaked information refers to both names.

Quake Enhanced was released in 2021, so it’s possible that the new remastered version will follow a similar naming convention. The upcoming release is expected to be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

It’s important to note that this release will be separate from Quake II RTX, the Nvidia enhanced ray-tracing-enabled version of Quake II released in 2019.

Quakecon 2023: The Return of In-Person Event

After three years of digital-only events, QuakeCon 2023 will mark the highly anticipated return of the in-person event at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The event will take place from Thursday, August 10 to Sunday, August 13.

Marty Stratton, studio head at id Software, expressed his excitement by saying, “QuakeCon is our favorite event of the year, and we can’t wait to finally see our incredible QuakeCon community in-person again, celebrate games, and frag all weekend with thousands of friends.”

For its first year back, QuakeCon 2023 will focus on the fan-favorite event and the players who have made it the best gaming gathering for over 25 years.

Expectations for Quakecon 2023:

In recent years, Bethesda has primarily focused on smaller reveals for their catalog titles during the event, rather than showcasing their major releases. However, this year’s QuakeCon might be the perfect opportunity for Bethesda to unveil something exciting like the long-awaited Quake 2 Enhanced.
