Rafinha in loan from Real Sociedad to Paris Saint-Germain

LONDON: Brazilian midfielder Rafinha has joined Spain’s Real Sociedad in loan from French Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, the duo announced club Monday. Rafinha, brother of Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, said he was “excited and happy” to join Sociedad, sixth in La Liga. The 28-year-old made 39 appearances in all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain since joining the club French in 2020. Rafinha grew up in the Barcelona academy and spent most of his career in Spain. Rafinha played two games with the Brazilian national team and was part of the gold-winning team at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics (Reuters)
