Madrid: Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior scored twice in extra time as Real Madrid arrived in comeback by beating ten rivals Atletico Madrid 3-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday. Former Real striker Alvaro Morata led Atletico Madrid in lead after 19 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu and the European and Spanish champions struggled to equalize until Rodrygo scored with 11 minutes remaining. Real took advantage of the expulsion of Atletico defender Stefan Savic, to decree victory with braces from Benzema and Vinicius. The golden square was completed by Athletic Bilbao’s 3-1 win over Valencia today, who joined Barcelona and Osasuna. (Reuters)
