Tonight, Sunday, the delegation of the Saudi team will fly to the capital of Oman, Muscat, in preparation for the meeting with the Omani team next Tuesday at the Sultan Qaboos Complex, as part of the second round of the final Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
Al-Akhdar’s delegation includes all the players of the national team camp, which he established in Riyadh, with the exception of player Abdullah Atif. National team coach Herve Renard allowed Atif to leave the team’s pitch, which is currently in Riyadh, based on the medical report submitted by the team’s medical staff and his need for a treatment program, after the injury suffered in Vietnam game last Thursday.
Atif will continue her treatment program in hers club, in coordination with the team’s medical staff.
Atif will miss between 4 and 6 weeks from the stadiums, after the medical staff has decided not to resort to surgery, and to do enough with physiotherapy, in addition to rest.
On the pitch the coaching staff, led by Renard, studied the Omani team, especially after the sudden appearance on Thursday against Japan, and managed to close the game in his favor, with an unanswered goal on the ground and between fans of the Japanese team.
Renard could resort to making changes to the starting line-up with which he will start next Tuesday’s match, especially in midfield or at the level of defenders.
