Rewarding Al-Hilal Saudi Players with Millions for Qualifying for the World Cup Final

The Saudi Sports Ministry website reports that Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the sports minister and chairman of the Olympic Committee, has provided a financial reward of 500,000 riyals (about $133,000) to each of the players of the Al-Hilal team after they qualified for the World Cup final for clubs. Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, an honorary member of Al-Hilal, announced that each player would be awarded one million riyals, with the addition of another million in case of victory in the final.

Al-Hilal, led by its shining star Salem Al-Dosari and Argentinian Luciano Vietto, beat Brazil’s Flamengo 3-2 in the Moroccan city of Tangier, to become the first Saudi team and the third Asian team to reach the World Cup final for clubs after Japan’s Kashima Antlers (2016) and UAE’s Al-Ain (2018), and the third Arab team after Morocco’s Raja Casablanca (2013) and Al-Ain.

The Saudi Sports Ministry has congratulated Al-Hilal on their historic achievement of reaching the World Cup final for clubs and extended their sincere congratulations and blessings to the Keeper of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince. Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal has also expressed his congratulations and announced his special gift to the players – one million riyals for each player, with the addition of another million in case of victory in the final.
