LONDON: Manchester United announced Thursday that Richard Arnold will become the new chief executive of the club once Ed Woodward leaves his post on February 1st. Woodward, 50, who joined Manchester United’s management structure in 2005, confirmed that he would be stepping down as chief executive officer of the club last April, following the failure of the project to establish the European Super League. Arnold has been in Manchester since 2007 and has been managing director of the group since 2013. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this great club and his fans, and I am determined to return that honor in every possible way, “said Arnold.
