Riley Keough Reveals Set Shut Down Due to Allergy Scare on “Under the Silver Lake”
Riley Keough recently shared an unexpected incident on the set of the 2018 film “Under the Silver Lake.” In a video interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that the production had to be temporarily shut down after she was found eating a granola bar containing peanuts, unaware that her co-star Andrew Garfield had a severe peanut allergy. This incident could have had disastrous consequences as Keough and Garfield were preparing to film a kissing scene that day.
Keough Shares the Stressful Experience
Reflecting on the incident, Keough expressed how stressful it was for her. She explained that she was in the makeup trailer, eating a granola bar, when the makeup artist noticed and asked about peanuts. Uncertain about the ingredients, Keough was taken aback when the makeup artist quickly sought out a producer, who happened to be her friend. Then, she learned about Garfield’s allergy and the need to shut down the set.
“It shouldn’t have been at craft, and I don’t know why they’re on set. It was like, ‘Oh fuck, that’s crazy.’ But also thank God this woman caught it because I had no idea,” Keough expressed in the interview.
