Oil prices rose in trading today, Thursday, in light of the depreciation of the dollar and expectations of increased demand from China after the resumption of economic activity.
By 09:29 Moscow time, futures for US West Texas Intermediate oil rose by 0.29% to $80.39 per barrel.
Brent oil futures traded at $86.27 a barrel, up 0.17% from the previous close.
Brent closed yesterday at $86.12/bbl, down slightly, equivalent to one cent, while U.S. oil rose by a small amount, the equivalent of two years, to $80.15/bbl.
In the foreign exchange markets, the dollar index fell against a basket of major currencies by 0.08%, to 101.55 points.
