Proceeding from the Kingdom’s pioneering role in preserving the climate and supporting the efforts of the international community in addressing key environmental challenges; From 23 to 25 October 2021, the capital, Riyadh, will host the inaugural edition of the “Green Saudi Initiative Forum” and the “Green Middle East Initiative Summit”, the two initiatives announced by Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, at the end of last March, and enjoyed a great global interaction.
The organization of the Kingdom of these two important events is part of its determination to create a lasting global impact, in the face of climate change, the protection of the territory and nature and a strong and effective contribution to the achievement of global objectives. Pushing the wheel of the fight against climate-related crises in coordinated way, at regional and international level.
The Kingdom has sent invitations to participate in the Green Saudi Initiative Forum and the Green Middle East Initiative Summit, to many world heads of state and government officials, as well as CEOs of major companies in the invited countries and numerous other heads of international organizations, academics , specialists in environmental field and civil society institutions.
Interestingly, the Green Saudi and Green Middle East initiatives aim to plant 50 billion trees in the region and reduce carbon emissions, by more than 10% of global contributions, as they are part of the Kingdom’s serious efforts to strengthen its partnership to regional and international level, in addressing and overcoming environmental challenges. Protect the planet and support efforts to combat climate change, with the aim of preserving the environment and the health of people in the region and in the world.
