Russia is modifying a large anti-submarine ship

Informed sources in the Russian military industry said that Russian specialists will work on the modification and modernization of one of the army’s most famous warships.

According to sources, “Russian specialists will work on the modernization of the Admiral Vinogradov anti-submarine missile ship, and after the modernization, this ship will return to the Russian army in 2024 or 2025.”

A source told the Russian TASS news agency that “the Admiral Vinogradov ship, after the modification, will have higher offensive capabilities compared to a ship of the same class, the Admiral Shaposhnikov, which was previously modernized, and its strike capabilities will be closer to those of a military frigate, and it will be equipped mainly with Kalibr-NK cruise missiles and Russian Zirkon hypersonic missiles.

In Russia, the ship “Admiral Vinogradov” was developed as part of project 1155, and the length of the ships produced according to this project is 163.5 meters, a displacement of 7570 tons, it can carry a crew of 220 people and sail at a range of 5000 nautical miles per task and includes its own weapons systems: two AK-100 100-mm artillery mounts, two other 45-mm guns, 4 AK-630 anti-aircraft systems, two Rastrub-B anti-ship missile systems. , anti-submarine torpedoes and two helicopter platforms Ka-27pl.
