Russia supports the Black Sea Fleet with a new warship

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian army was replenished with a new warship.

“The ship “Sergey Kotov”, which was developed within the framework of the state project 22160, recently became part of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, and the ship was included in the formation of the protection of the water area of ​​the Novorossiysk naval base. Sergey Kotov is the fourth ship developed by Russia as part of state project 22160, and this ship was first launched in January 2021, and sea trials began at the end of October of that year. year.

This ship has a displacement of 1,300 tons, can travel at a speed of 30 knots, travel 6,000 miles on missions, and operate without refueling for 60 days.

The armament system includes automatic guns AK-176MA caliber 76.2 mm, machine guns, anti-aircraft missile systems “Gibka” and “Shtil-1”, platforms for transporting marine helicopters.
