The Russian special military operation continues in Ukraine on Friday as units of the Russian army attempt to establish control and strike at the positions of the Ukrainian forces, while Kiev continues to resist and receives material and military support from the West in the face of the Russian Bear.
In the latest developments, the Russian Defense Ministry announced today, a test of a new missile from a missile defense system.
The ministry added that the missile was launched from the Sary-Shagan test range in Kazakhstan. The ministry did not provide any other details other than the positive outcome of the test.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine will limit the activities of Russian-affiliated religious organizations on its territory and will reconsider the status of the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Zelensky stated in a video recording of his evening speech that “the National Security and Defense Council has instructed the government to propose to the Ukrainian parliament a bill making it impossible for religious organizations belonging to centers of influence in Russia carry out business in Ukraine.”
These measures follow the raids carried out by the Ukrainian security services in November in the main monastery of the capital, Kiev, residence of the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and in a number of other places of worship, due to suspicions of connections with Moscow.

The Russian army is fighting battles in the center and outskirts of the cities of Avdiivka and Marinka, northwest of Donetsk. The Russian military also repulsed an attack south of Donetsk province and Ukrainian attacks in the Luhansk axis, according to Russia’s defense ministry. The Russian defense said the forces attacked three mercenary deployment points in separate areas.
On Thursday, a senior Ukrainian official announced that 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the war with Russia.
These numbers are not new to the Russo-Ukrainian war, as the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that 200 Ukrainian soldiers, as well as another 100 foreign mercenaries, were killed in the Russo-Ukrainian war over the course of Saturday a la Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian military had indicated in its statement released on Saturday that the death toll of Russian soldiers had risen to 86,710 since the start of the military operation on February 24.
