Russian gas exports to China increase by 60% in 4 months

Gazprom announced that Russian gas exports to China via the “Siberia” pipeline increased by 60% year on year during the first four months of 2022.

Gazprom said in a statement today, Sunday, that gas exports in China through the “Power of Siberia “are increasing in under a long-term bilateral contract with the Chinese company “CNPC”.

Deliveries of Russian gas via pipelines to China were at the end of 2019, to record approximately 4.1 billion cubic meters in 2020.

The pipeline’s annual capacity of 38 billion cubic meters per year is expected to be reached by 2025.

The total capacity of shipments to China via the “Far East” route can reach 48 billion cubic meters per year, the new agreement signed last February.
