Salah wins the England Player Award of the Year by the Football Critics Association

LONDON: Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah won the England Player award of the Year at the Football Critics Association’s annual vote for the second time in his career today, Friday. Salah, who won the award in 2018, received 48% of the votes, ahead of Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City and Declan Rice of West Ham United, who finished second and third respectively. Salah, 29, scored 30 goals and provided 14 assists in 44 games with Liverpool in this season, and forms an important pillar in manager Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are within a point of leaders Manchester City, five games before the end of the league season. Sam Kerr of Chelsea won the Women’s Player Award of the Year with 40% of the vote.
