Sam Raimi on a Batman Movie?
Sam Raimi’s Interest in DC
It was in 2022, just after Doctor Strange aired in the Multiverse of Madness in dark rooms, Sam Raimi shared son want to leave the Marvel team to work alongside DC Films. In effect, the director of Spider-Man and the saga Evil Dead recently wanted to work on a Batman movie.
What super-villain for Sam Raimi?
Today at the Texas Frightmare Weekend event, Twitter user Jason Carvey Watcher had the opportunity to chat with Sam Raimi for a while, a chance for us to find out what a Batman movie would look like in his hands.
Met Sam Raimi at #TexasFrightmareWeekend today and asked him about his comments regarding his interest in directing to Batman movie in Gunn’s DCU.
Tea villain he’d most want to use?
Ra’s al-Ghul.
You understand, if Sam Raimi directs a Batman movie for James Gunn, the director would be tempted to re-introduce Ra’s al Ghul, A super-naughty as theon already seen in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. An idea that would perfectly suit the particularly dark and strange universe of Sam Raimi, as the antagonist is terrifying.
An anecdote that is surprising to say the least since theon already knows that The Brave and the Bold, the next Batman film (which, as a reminder, has still not revealed son director), will feature Damian Wayne. For those who don’t know, Damian Wayne isn’t just Batman’s son, he’s also Ra’s al Ghul’s grandson. It remains to be seen whether this is a simple coincidence, or on the contrary, an indication.
