Saudi Arabia adopts the Unified National Visa Platform Mechanism of Action. These are the most important details

The Umm Al-Qura newspaper unveiled the details of the decision to adopt the “Visa platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” currently in force in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a unified national visa platform, which was approved by the Cabinet this May.

The Official Gazette said, in its issue issued yesterday, Friday, that the decision included the adoption of the “Visa Platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” currently at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a unified national platform for visas, ensuring unification of efforts and governance of the distribution of roles, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the owner of the platform and its technical developer.

The decision indicated that the National Information Center hosted the unified national visa platform referred to in the first point of this decision.

The decision provided: “The adoption of the unified national platform for visas does not involve any modification of the existing electronic systems and procedures currently in force at the Ministry of the Interior and its platforms, including: (the border system, the recruitment system, the rules for dealing with expatriates). “

The decision provided that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development – through its platforms – was responsible for all applications for work visas submitted by natural or legal persons and sent to the unified national platform for visas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs referred to in the first point of this decision.

The decision provided for the formation of a committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of representatives of: Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Investments, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ministry of Tourism , the Ministry of Finance, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Government Authority and the National Cyber ​​Security Authority and the National Center for Government Resource Systems and whoever the committee deems appropriate to other bodies, in order to limit the procedures for the unified national platform for visas and their development, with an emphasis on not affecting the competences of these bodies in organizing, supervising and developing procedures and technical solutions for their work entrusted.

The decision provided for the formation of a technical working group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Ministry, the National Information Center, the Digital Government Authority and the National Cyber ​​Security Authority, to ensure the transfer of hosting of the unified national platform for visas from the ministry to the center within a period not exceeding (one year) from the date of this decision.
