Saudi Arabia begins to require fingerprint registration for Umrah visas for those arriving from 5 countries

Today, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the start of a requirement for the registration of biometric “fingerprint” characteristics for the issuance of electronic “Umrah” visas for those arriving in Mecca Al Mukarrama from the UK, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

And the ministry said via its Twitter account that the purpose of the registration is to facilitate entry procedures through the Kingdom’s ports and enrich the digital experience of Rahman’s guests by providing the steps to register these characteristics.

She explained that fingerprint registration takes place by downloading an application (Saudi Visa Bio) for smartphones, specifying the type of visa, instantly reading the passport, taking a photo of the face from the front camera, and matching it with a personal photo in the passport, and scanning ten fingerprints electronically through the camera.
