Saudi Arabia: Goods exports rose 71.8% to 275.9 billion riyals in the third quarter

Saudi goods exports recorded in the third quarter of 2021, an increase of 71.8% compared to the third quarter of 2020, when international trade was hit by the travel ban and ban linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The total export value was 275.9 billion riyals in the third quarter of 2021, in increase compared to 160.6 billion riyals in the third quarter of 2020, due to the increase in oil exports of 100 billion riyals, equal to 93.9%.

The percentage of oil exports to total total exports increased from 66.4% in the third quarter of 2020 to 74.9% in the third quarter of 2021, according to a statement by the General Statistical Authority.

While the value of exports of goods increased compared to the second quarter of 2021 by 37.2 billion riyals, or 15.6%.

And non-oil exports recorded a 28.4% increase compared to the third quarter of 2020, when they recorded 69.3 billion
riyals for 54 billion riyals.

The most important commodities were “plastics, rubber and their products, which account for 8.34% of total non-oil exports. They increased by 49%, for a value of 7.9 billion riyals, and the products of industries chemicals and related products accounted for 30.8% of total non-oil exports, and increased by 38.4%, for an amount of 5.9 billion riyals for the third quarter of 2020, while the value of non-oil exports it increased from the second quarter of 2021 by 3.6 billion riyals, or 5.5%.

In the third quarter of 2021, imports recorded an increase of 17.6%, reaching 21.6 billion riyals, with a value of
144.6 billion riyals in the third quarter of 2021, compared to 123 billion riyals in the third quarter of 2020, due to the increase in commodity prices prime compared to the third quarter of 2020, of which the most influential was the means of transport and its parts by 58,1%, and products in metal by 48.3%, and the value of imports increased over the previous quarter increased by 2.2 billion riyals, or 1.6%.

The value of Saudi goods exports last September amounted to 94.7 billion riyals in 2021, in increase compared to the 53.4 billion riyal of September 2020; This is due to an increase in oil exports of 34.3 billion riyals, or 97.8%, according to another statement from the General Statistical Authority.

The percentage of oil exports to total exports increased from 65.7% in September 2020 to 73.3% in September 2021.

The value of exports of goods increased by 5.5 billion riyals, or 6.1%, compared to August.

And non-oil exports recorded a 38.2% increase from September 2020, when they recorded 25.3 billion riyals, up from 18.3 billion riyals.
