Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz confirmed that there is a qualitative shift in relations between Saudi Arabia and China, reflecting the interest of the leadership of the two countries in cooperation in various fields.

The minister reaffirmed the two countries’ desire to expand cooperation in the energy sector supply chains by establishing a regional center for Chinese factories in Saudi Arabia to take advantage of the Kingdom’s advantageous position between three continents.

The Minister of Energy spoke about the areas of cooperation between the two parties, especially in crude oil-to-petrochemical projects, renewable energy, clean hydrogen, electrical projects and the peaceful use of nuclear energy, referring to cooperation and joint investment in the countries covered by the agreement. China’s Belt and Road Initiative, as well as investments in integrated refining and petrochemical complexes in both countries.

He explained that Saudi Arabia has a strong relationship and close strategic ties with China, covering many areas, the most important of which are various fields of energy, noting that China has become the Kingdom’s first oil export destination as part of the large volume of trade exchange between the two countries. and its continuous annual growth over the past five years, it is useful that the Saudi-Chinese energy relationship includes many joint investments.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman pointed to the desire of both sides to work on expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, stressing the importance of constant exchange of views between them, as they are one of the most important energy producing and consuming countries in the world. world.
