Scotland has won group A in the European Football Championship Qualifying (Euro 2024) in Germany. They sealed the top spot by defeating Spain 2-0 in their second round of group matches on Tuesday. Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay’s score in the seventh and 51st minute bagged the win for Scotland. The Scotland national team earned six points and defeated their Cypriot counterparts 3-0 in their first match. Spain was second in the group with three points earned in the first round by beating their Norwegian contenders at 3-0. Meanwhile, Georgia opened its qualifying match in the same group by escaping Norway with a 1-1 draw. Alexander Sorloth scored the initial goal for Norway at the “Batumi Arena” in Georgia’s 15th minute, while George Mikotadze scored the equalizer for Georgia at the 61st minute. Consequently, Georgia scored one point, while Norway scored their first point in the group. (dpa)
